P272-Vintage Italy/Vatican “Poste Vaticane” Cinquantenario Manzoniano C30 Addio

This piece is very likely not an authentic Vatican postage stamp. The design refers to the 1923 Manzoni commemorative issue from Italy, but the wording “POSTE VATICANE” is inconsistent with that date because Vatican City and its own postal service were only established in 1929, and the Vatican’s first stamps were issued that year.

Because of that, I would list it as a fantasy/reproduction/cinderella item, not as a guaranteed genuine Vatican stamp. The condition is also poor, with heavy toning, back damage, and tape/hinge residue visible in the photos. That will keep value low. Based on comparable low-end singles and the uncertainty over authenticity, a realistic resale expectation is about £3–£10, with a sensible asking price around £6.99–£9.99. Genuine 1923 Italian Manzoni material can be worth much more, especially as complete sets or better-condition examples, but that does not support pricing this example as genuine.
